It's Good to Be Home!

Well, we successfully completed our "Good to Be Home" CD Release Tour of Eastern Canada.  It was a blast and we're glad to be home.

The new CD can be found at TAN Cafe and Box of Delights Bookshop in Wolfville, and online from Bandcamp and CD Baby.

This summer we're looking forward to a variety of gigs around Nova Scotia, including an appearance at the Acoustic Maritime Music Festival on Thursday July 20th and one at EVOLVE in Antigonish on Sunday July 22nd!  On Sunday Sept 2 we will also be taking part in the Lahave Folk Festival.  For other shows check our calendar.

The Nirvana in Fredricton NB

This Tuesday, we performed at Nirvana in Fredricton. What a place! Ariana had herself a yoga lesson with Marchell Coulombe, yoga instructor extraordinaire, while Andy enjoyed local organic brew products and some of the most awesome vegan cuisine north of the south pole. The show was attended by local Quakers and Yogis and a great atmosphere. We're starting our Ontario string of shows this Friday with a shared bill in Kitchener.

"Good to Be Home" will be released in April

Andy and Ariana - Good to Be HomeWhew, we are almost done recording our 8th CD!

What we did last week

So, highlights of last week include performing at both New Minas Elementary and LE Shaw schools!  The students at those schools have a great music teacher, Olivia Frampton, who has been organizing concerts and demos every month (upcoming - digeridoo and marimba among other percussion instruments!).
We did 45 minute concerts (with questions and answers of course) for 320 Grades P-5 students at New Minas and around 130 Grades P-5 students at LE Shaw.

At New Minas there was a lot of great clapping along, snapping along, and dancing (happy mayhem!)

LE Shaw's concert began at 8:45 which was slightly challenging for us (our earliest gig ever we think) but we made it and it turned out really well. We had lots of fun and the kids seemed to have lots of fun too. They even helped Andy out with his vocal percussion on a few songs. Later on that same day we received an envelope full of drawings and cards from the Grades 1 and 2 classes.  I am attaching a photo gallery because they're really sweet!  Notice all the cool high hats.

It's November

So, after a week of mainly things going wrong, (flu being one of the things) we are getting back to normal.  Normal right now involves working on a CD for Karen Warner, getting ready for Jamie Junger's CD Release of "Fishin' for Pickles" and enjoying the last (?) warm days of summer.  This fall we have been having extremely awesome weather, all of which was owed to us after the miserable wet catastrophe that was last fall.

A few shows coming up...

Sat Nov 26 we'll perform at Paddy's Pub in Wolfville from ~9-12 with Adam and Chris (should be a nice time).

Sun Nov 27 we will be backing up Jamie and Sadie Junger at their CD Release at the Baptist Vestry in Chester from 2-5pm.  This will certainly be fantastic, as you would know if you had seen any of Jamie and Sadie's previous performances.

Fri Dec 2 will be Harry's War Child Extravaganza at the Whittle.  We'll be doing a set with Chris and Adam at that show as well as helping on some songs from Harry and the Hupmans.

Sat Dec 3 is Night Kitchen, in which we are not performing.  It'll be a great amazing show.

Fri Dec 9 will be our annual xmas show with Darren Arsenault at Petite Riviere Fire Hall.  This is always a blast, as of course anything involving Darren typically is.
